Representation

The principle function of the Union is to represent the needs of all UCL students at a college, local and national level.

Student Officers are elected by you to run the Union and make decisions about it's strategic direction. If you have any concerns about the way your Union is run you can contact an officer.

You can get involved and represent your fellow students - from Full Time Officer to Faculty Representative, you have a say in key decisions that affect UCL students.

Social life

UCLU has a number of venues across campus, including 4 cafes, 2 shops, 3 bars and a venue. UCLU also organises a number of club nights at nearby venues. See a map of the venues here.

With over 150 clubs and societies, you can't help but find something that you’ll want to get involved in. Joining a club or society is a great way to make friends and enhance your social life. Each year around 8,000 of our students choose to become a member of one or more of our Clubs or Societies.

Strategic Plan 2011-14

Over the past 18 months UCLU has been engaged in a major strategic review of our services. This has included:

- Conducting a series of focus groups and telephone calls with key student groups
- Carrying our a major campus wide survey into UCLU services and member needs
- Organising events on campus, including "Ideas Cafe" and "Have we heard you right" to test some of our early responses to the research findings.

After pulling together all the research, we conducted a major strategic planning exercise that involved all of our services. The result is a three-year Strategic Plan that will see UCLU evolve and develop our services provision up to 2014.

The plan can be viewed here and we would welcome any feedback you have on it.

The results of our market research and strategic review are also available to view:
UCLU Focus Group Outcomes (February 2010)
UCLU Survey Report (May 2010)
UCLU Ideas Cafe Report (June 2010)
